Funding for housing projects are raised through various fund-raising efforts by the group in Kentucky. Spaghetti dinners, church presentations telling of the efforts being made and reasoning behind it...and once in country, this group employs only Haitians to do the work. All materials are purchased in country. While overseeing the project, they will visit area churches, spreading God's word and being the light that He asks us to be when called!
The recipient family is chosen from the community by Pastor Brisenault and the church board--based on a family's particular needs situation, their participation in the church and in their faith walk.
The pictures below was the very first home build for Cornerstone! As you can see, the glory of God's beauty can now be seen from this family's front porch. What an incredible sight to see--Haitians employed, working for other Haitians, providing shelter for a family in need and to know that funding and resources were provided all because God has put this mission on the heart of a few in Kentucky! What a blessing.
The second home building project for Cornerstone is under way in 2016---scroll down to see the progress! God is SO good.

Cornerstone Ministry has been blessed to be equipped to build a home for a second family in need within the NCCT church family!
According to Brad Milner, who leads the Kentucky area ministry, the family that is to receive this wonderful blessing of a home are the Cadet Family. They are members of New Christian Church of Tabarre and the oldest children attend the school regularly and are in the Student Sponsorship Program!
The family members names are Cerly (husband/father), Edette (wife/mother), Jeffte (12 yrs), Kengly (10 yrs), and Lenwse (3 yrs).
To give a bit of background on the family, we can tell you that before the earthquake in 2010, they had rented a small home. Renting is very typical in Haiti and rent is always paid by the year--not monthly as is custom in the U.S. Not having a consistent income, renting was difficult. They currently live in a makeshift shelter on the small property they own, also very common in Haiti. The father's work has been inconsistent lately due to mechanical difficulties. You see, he owns a motorcycle to carry passengers on, which is one mode of transportation rather than taking a tap-tap--but it breaks down at times, ultimately hurting the family income.
This family is grateful to God and all of His mercy for supplying their family with a solid home in which to raise their children.
